Ravi Raghu
President - Capital One Software
Ravi Raghu is the President of Capital One Software, an enterprise B2B business focused on cloud data management and AI solutions. A member of Capital One’s Executive Committee, Ravi has spent over 24 years with the company, rising from a business analyst to leading and scaling key divisions including Commercial Cards, B2B Payments and Dealer Auto Finance. He holds a Master’s degree in Civil Engineering from Stanford University and a Bachelor’s degree from IIT Madras.

Stepping into open source, we committed to designing software in a decentralized and collaborative way, contributing to the tech community at large.
Becoming open source first
2015
Large amounts of data, changing customer habits and the need to stay competitive drove our move to the cloud. After a nine year journey Capital One would become the first US bank to go all in on the public cloud.

2016
By partnering with Snowflake, Capital One engineers could focus less on managing infrastructure and more on building advanced applications, data products and machine learning solutions.

By November 2020 we moved all eight on-premise data centers to the cloud. Migrating to the cloud has enabled both instant provisioning of infrastructure and rapid innovation. We are now able to manage data at scale and unlock the power of machine learning.

2020
At Capital One, data is the air we breathe. We know to effectively leverage data at scale, businesses need to rethink each capability in their ecosystem. As we encountered challenges during our data journey, we built and battle tested new cloud and data management solutions.
Taking internal solutions external
2021
In 2022 Capital One Software launched with our first internally-developed software solution, Capital One Slingshot. Slingshot is a data management solution that helps businesses accelerate adoption of Snowflake, manage cloud costs and automate critical governance processes.
